When we first started Hypertherm 40 years ago, we had just one goal in mind — to cut the cost of cutting metal. Beyond this aspiration, we didn't have much in the two-door garage we called our company headquarters, except an idea for making plasma cutting technology dramatically better.
As our efforts yielded a business, our ideas grew into ideals for an enterprise inspired by technology, but motivated by the aspirations of our customers and the development and well-being of our associates. Now 40 years later, Hypertherm has grown and changed in ways unimaginable then, but the founding purpose and ideals remain unaltered. Our associates, now more than a thousand worldwide, remain driven in their search to discover and meet changing customer needs, still inspired by the productivity-enhancing promise of new technology. And we remain deeply committed to making Hypertherm a workplace, whether one person or one thousand, giving full opportunity and expression to the ideas and ambitions of every associate.
It's not often that an engineer can see his hopes and ideas grow and come to life in such a rewarding way. After 40 years, I can only offer my most sincere thanks to all of our customers, partners and associates.
